| Tool and Die Maker - Journeyman (2nd Shift) Williamsburg Manufacturing - Part of Magna International We're looking for Tool and Die Makers to join our growing 2nd shift team! Williamsburg Manufacturing (part of Magna International) is growing quickly, and looking for new team members to jump on the wagon. Williamsbug Manufacturing is located in Williamsburg, IA and will require relocation for those interested in this opportunity. We are sure you will love the area, since we are located about 20 miles west of the Iowa City – Cedar Rapids "corridor;" a thriving and rapidly growing region. Iowa City is known to many as the “Athens of the Midwest” due to its culturally and ethnically diverse residents, and its draw to sports, theater, music, and literature enthusiasts. - Williamsburg Manufacturing's contracts with the automakers are secure through 2012. - We are part of the world's largest auto parts manufacturer, Magna (Cosma) International, which has over 80,000 associates with Magna, and over 14,000 with the Cosma division. - Solid employee benefits program - Top notch wages - CAN DO Environment - Company will promote from within due to 6 new facilities being built by 2012. Tool and Die Maker Take on and complete any work that is assigned by the tool room Area/Shift leaders, always striving to improve the quality of workmanship and time taken to complete assigned work. Job Responsibilities: · Attain safety, quality and productivity goals · Repair and maintain production tools and dies · Construct new tools and dies as required · Verify conformance of machined or repaired dies to specifications by checking dimensions, clearances and alignments · Troubleshoot problems during production · Modify dies to conform to engineering changes; conduct tryouts of new dies · Work to blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions · Maintain and update equipment records, schematics, blueprints and files in orderly fashion · Operate lift truck, overhead crane, floor scrubber and equipment to wash dies · Obtain training for professional development and to stay current on tooling and safety requirements · Complete correspondence, forms and reports using personal computer and required software · Handle confidential information on a regular basis · Attend training as required · Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example · Promote and facilitate Open Door process, effective communication and Fair Treatment · Participate in Continual Improvement activities · Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies Qualifications: · Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction · Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive employee relations · Able to prepare, read and interpret written reports, instructions, procedures and guidelines · Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers and customers · Able to operate machine tools such as TIG/MIG/ARC welders, lathes, milling machines · Able to maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact · Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines · Able to work flexible hours and overtime to be available to three (3) shifts · Able to use computer and software as required · Able to work to blueprints and sketches · Must have good color vision to work with tooling components · Able to lift 75 pounds · Able to work in confined spaces · Able to use standard hand and measuring tools Education and Experience: · High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience · Associate’s Degree in Tool and Die/Journeyperson status in Tool and Die · Further training will be required on all job responsibilities not otherwise satisfied · Forklift training and experience · Statistical Process Control (SPC) Hours: 2nd Shift (3:30p-11:30p) We areare one of the area's top employers offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits which include profit sharing; 401(k); and health, dental and vision plans.
